Scott is the Ryan LLC national leader for the Green Energy Incentives practice including Renewable & Clean Energy Investment Tax Credit (48 & 48E), Advanced Manufacturing (48C & 48X), Energy Production Tax Credits (45 & 45Y), Clean Hydrogen (45V), Commercial Energy Efficient Buildings (179D), and Residential Energy Efficiency Buildings (45L) plus other Green Transition incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA2022). In a previous life, Scott was a tax controversy attorney specializing in tax incentives under exam with the IRS, California FTB, and other state taxing authorities. Scott has mediated hundreds of tax cases with the IRS at the appeals and tax court level. Scott also advises on IRS practice & procedure as well as internal accounting process to develop contemporaneous documentation that can be used for audit defense. Scott lives in Dallas with his wife and four kids. In his spare time, Scott has served on several non-profit board of directors – including being a Boy Scouts of America local council Vice President.
