Sandra Mallory is the Buildings & Energy Program Manager in the Seattle Office of Sustainability and Environment. She leads the buildings team to create programs and policies that will transition buildings in Seattle to a net-zero carbon future. She is currently managing the process to develop emissions performance standards for larger existing commercial and multifamily buildings. In addition, she is overseeing the development of the City’s electrification strategy to decarbonize municipally owned buildings by 2035. Previous initiatives include creation of the energy efficiency program for City-owned buildings and development of the Seattle Building Tune-Up mandate. She also designed and secured funding for the City’s Tune-Up Accelerator Program, a Department of Energy funded initiative to assist owners of small to medium sized buildings comply with the mandate. Before joining the City in 2007, Sandra practiced architecture, with a focus on greening affordable housing, and taught Sustainable Design in an interdisciplinary Sustainability program.

Planning Your Strategy for Smart & Efficient Upgrades
Pacific Tower, Seattle, WAThe third and final day of SBX 2023 will be held in-person in Seattle and will feature leaders from Washington State, the City of Seattle, and other industry influencers discussing Washington State’s building performance standards, newly developed City of Seattle building emission standards, innovative financing mechanisms, and tools and resources to help building owners and managers plan, finance, and act to accelerate the pace of change in meeting these state and city requirements. The event is free and includes a buffet-style networking lunch.
